THOUGHTS ON: POSITANO
Positano Day trips: We actually ended up staying in Capri for two nights, but I would highly recommend just taking a boat/ferry over from Positano for a day of exploring and shopping. Capri to me was kinda lame... it's really tourist heavy and not much to do but shop (it's mostly designer brands on the island so not a lot of options for affordable shopping aka depressing). There is however an awesome chairlift that brings you to the highest point of the island - this is a total must do, but again, something you can do on a day trip. The ride up as well as the view when you've reached the top is ridiculous. Case & point below:
I highly recommend taking a boat trip one day, it's a great way to see the surrounding areas (aka blue grotto, cliffs to jump off of etc.) and the local captains are obviously super knowledgable. There are boats available for a wide range of $ prices $ so book it, baby.
Positano beach: One of the most picturesque spots in Italy. I was in photography heaven, couldn't take enough pictures. The colors gave me life. On the actual beach, different rows of beach chairs cost different prices, back row is 13 euro, front is 17 euro. Your group gets the chairs for the day, so you can bring back a bottle of wine later and hang. Next to the umbrella beach is also a beach where you can just bring a towel and lounge fo' free.
